Le Mans FC coach, Patrick Videira, has been officially nominated for the prestigious UNFP Best Coach of the Season Trophy in Ligue 2. This recognition follows an exceptional campaign where Le Mans FC, a promoted club, defied expectations, notably during their home match against Guingamp on February 23, 2026, a significant fixture in their 24th league matchday.

Patrick Videira stands out at the helm of a team currently holding second place in the Ligue 2 standings, with only two matchdays remaining. His nomination, unveiled this Thursday, April 30, 2026, by the National Union of Professional Footballers (UNFP), is a fitting reward for his hard work and his team's impressive performance.

He faces strong competition for this title. The other coaches nominated are Fabien Dagneaux from Boulogne-sur-Mer, Stéphane Dumont from Troyes, Grégory Poirier from Red Star, and Didier Santini from Rodez. Each has led their team to notable successes this season in Ligue 2.

Despite this major nomination for Videira, Le Mans FC has no representatives among the contenders for the best player or best goalkeeper trophies. This is noteworthy, especially considering the 13 clean sheets achieved by goalkeeper Nicolas Kocik. The best coach is selected by his peers, members of Unecatef (the coaches' union). For other categories, players from Ligue 1, Ligue 2, and Première Ligue cast their votes.
